Willa http://aeglaeca.org/r-i-p-willa http://aeglaeca.org/r-i-p-willa#comments Tue, 31 Jan 2012 22:33:27 +0000 grendell http://aeglaeca.org/?p=1557 I just found out that my friend passed on this morning.   Willa was a wonderful, kind-hearted, generous, funny & beautiful lady and I loved her like a sister.  When I was going through the in-vitro process to get pregnant with the twins she was there for me every painful step of the way.  She helped give me my injections, she listened to me cry and rant.  She even had symapthy pains for me!  When the first round failed and I lost the embryos she was the one who held me up and stuck with me for the next round.  I am so glad that she was still with us to meet the fruits of our labors.  When I heard the news today the first thing I did was run upstairs to hug my twins.  I know that she was in a lot of pain from the cancer and so I hope that now all her pain is gone.  She will be truly missed and forever loved.

We’re both so *fond* of having our picture taken that this was the only one I could find of us… and it’s old… and we are a motley crew, that…

I love you lady and I hope you’ve found peace.

Austin laughs and says “Geez Mom, you’re in full-on Granny mode!”  (my Mom is constantly knitting, sewing, etc)

I respond with a sigh, “Maybe I’ll have it done by the time you have a baby.”  (as of this writing the baby better be extremely skinny)

To which he adamantly replies “I’m never having kids!”

And I say “Well… when your wife has a baby.”

Austin – “No way, Mom!  I’m not ever having kids!”

Me – “Why not?”  (and I was asking seriously)

Without so much as a word he rolls his eyes and then looks at me and then looks at the twins… “They’re why!!”

Of course… that should have been obvious, right?! LOL

Later that day while trying to relax and have a snack two mini-people (who had already eaten their dinner) attacked from both sides ‘meowing’ until I fed them.  I don’t believe that I have ever spoon fed the cat so I’m not sure why they thought that was a good idea.. but I suppose it resulted in them getting fed so I guess I’m the dope!

He was worried that he might not be able to go to the Boys & Girls club because I said that they [the people running it] were just a bunch of kids who might not want to deal with heat casualties.

He pipes back… “No they’re not, Tim is old… he’s like 25, Mom.”

So there you go… I officially know no young people anymore… you’ve all been deemed OLD!

This time of year it always seems we notice those missing from our lives a little bit more.  It seems harder to get on with the days without them here.  Hold your family close at the holidays and everyday… you just don’t know what’s around the corner.  So for all those faces & voices & hugs & kisses that will be missed at the table this Christmas – I still hold you all in my heart and miss you dearly.
