February 5th, 2010 (9 months + 21 days) 9-month Check-Up  – Doc says they are perfect!

Ellie is a crawling machine and Marcus is getting there.  He can pull himself along pretty quickly with his arms, he just hasn’t gotten his belly off the floor yet.  They are both walking along the furniture and pulling themselves upon everything.  The are both getting a top tooth to go with their bottom two.  Ellie is hell on wheels in her walker… nothing in her reash is safe!  Marcus still only goes backwards but he grabs all he can reach too.

The both love pancakes and orange juice on Saturday morning.  Ellie likes to dance and Marcus likes to sing.  Austin has already worked out all the instruments they are going to learn so the three of them can have a band.

It’s hard to believe that they will be turning 1 in a few short months… geez, where did the time go?

Baby Ellie Crawls! http://aeglaeca.org/2010/01/01/twinnie-milestone-baby-ellie-crawls http://aeglaeca.org/2010/01/01/twinnie-milestone-baby-ellie-crawls#comments Sat, 02 Jan 2010 01:27:16 +0000 grendell http://aeglaeca.org/?p=1133 Ellie and Marcus have been rolling and scooching for about a month now and recently pulling themselves up on their playpen wall and walking along it (for the last few weeks).  Ellie is a bit further along than Marcus with getting into the crawling position but until tonight I’d only ever seen her go backwards.  BUT… tonight Ellie crawled from the couch to her jumper (about 2 feet) and then later crawled across the playpen to get to me!  So little Elle is officially a crawler! 

Incidently, last weekend we had to lower the crib mattresses because I went in to check them and they were both standing, thankfully on the inside rail, just chatting it up and having a good time.  Tonight, Ellie stood up in the crib and pulled down part of the mobile — so those are gone now. 

My little monkeys are starting to get mobile, watch out!!

Baby Ellie and Baby Marcus on their playmat.  Ellie practices holding her head up while Marcus perfects the ancient art of toe-eating.  Ellie did roll-over, before and after I was recording.  She’s been going from belly-to-back for about a week and a half now.  Marcus can go from back-to-belly but not often.

  • Wednesday – 12-yr old son is sniffling and blowing his nose
  • Thursday morning – 12-yr old son is coughing like an emphesema patient so I take him to the walk-in, antibiotics and albuterol are prescribed (damn inhaler is $45 AFTER insurance)
  • Friday – Boy twin is coughing and girl twin is sniffling
  • Saturday morning – Take twins to the walk-in, albutero with nebulizer is prescribed
  • Saturday night – Vaporizer and heater in the bedroom, twinnies aren’t eating like they should and son one needs to be ‘reminded’ to take his antibiotics — on the up side I think I’m getting enough residual meds that I probably won’t get sick (X crossing fingers X)
  • Sunday – Twinnies REALLY don’t like the nebulizer and it makes them shake and cry and generally unhappy, not sure it’s worth it — spacing the treatments out a little more, added pedialite to the menu so they are at least getting some liquids, Daddy is coughing…ellie_neb_30aug09

    They also had to get 2 shots and an oral vaccine which didn’t go over well.  It wasn’t nearly as bad as their 2-month shots but they both cried.  Ellie alot more than Marcus again but Marcus seems to be the one who is going to be feverish.  I just gave them both another dose of Tylenol with bedtime.  Hopefully they won’t be sick like they were last time.
